AGRIC ORGANICS is officially a Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) Farm Vendor!
Wilbraham —- The Baker- PolIto Administration recently announce new vendors for the Healthy Incentive Program (HIP). We are proud to announce that Agric Organics is one of the one-hundred and seven newly selected vendors. Being able to be a part of this program give us more opportunities to continue to be a part of the efforts to ensure that the food desert communities that we serve get increased access to our nutrient dense vegetables.
Do you accept HIP? This is has been our most frequently asked questions for quite some time and we are glad that going forward our answer can now be a “YES!”.
All our Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) customers are now eligible to purchase fruits and vegetables from Agric Organics using their HIP. You can find us this season at the The Farmers Market at Forest Park, Springfield Downtown Farmers market, Baystate Mason Square Open Air Market, and our Baystate High Street Open Air Market. Learn more about our markets at agricorganics.com/#markets. We hope to serve you soon!
What is HIP?
The Healthy Incentive Program, also known as HIP, is an incentive program in Massachusetts. Families and individuals on SNAP) are eligible to buy fruits and vegetables from participating vendors. HIP puts money back on your Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card when you use SNAP to buy healthy, local fruits and vegetables from HIP farm vendors. There is no special sign-up for HIP. If you live in Massachusetts and get SNAP benefits, your household is automatically able to participate in HIP.
“HIP provides matching funds for SNAP households who purchase locally grown produce from participating Massachusetts vendors. Vendors include farm stands, farmers markets, mobile markets, and CSA farm share programs”.
Learn more about HIP at Mass.gov/HIP and find a HIP vendor at DTAFinder.com, a multilingual mobile-friendly interactive map.”
